BOLOGNA CALCIO Mihajlovic: ”Un piccolo passo avanti”

By: Ben | November 16th, 2008

“A small step forward”, beamed Mihajlovic after the game in Siena. We’ve yet to win under his direction but the two points earned against la Roma and on the road in Siena are almost enough for a broth, we wrestle three from Palermo next weekend and everyone eats tortellini in brodo! An encounter that should be approached with caution, since the reeling Palermo after Ibracadabera broke the sound barrier on two occasions leaving the pale Fontana with nothing to do but gawk and reprimand his defensive line after collecting himself; they will be clawing for redemption after back to back losses. I can only hope we can take advantage of their moment of weakness and with a little luck have a hand in sending them on a collapsing trend of form. They did manage to lose to Torino before Inter, there is a chance and Mihajlovic is certain that victory is possible. “ma sono convinto che vinceremo”

Yes it was by manner of the penalty spot that saw us through thanks again to Marco Di Vaio; not to mention Caliao’s fortuitous slip from the spot that spared Antonioli from suffering yet another goal. It was a tale told from three spot kicks, two of which were from the penalty mark and it was the one that missed that allowed us to share the wealth. Deserved? I believe so, for any number of circumstances can decide the fate of a game and who knows, for us it’s been a bit of dumb luck; or maybe it can all be attributed to the Mihajlovic and his constant stress for the need of la grinta(grit).

What has been apparent all season is the lack of our attack and it was only more visible today. Aside from Di Vaio we have little threats going forward, Marrazina held the torch in Serie B yet on the big stage has not favored our balding saint.

So I open the doors for a stray, and though the man has shoved off to Inter for the past five years, come Christmas time he’s welcome to change his stripes again. I trust in Sinisa, he’ll pull the old dog back home by the ears and make the bastard realize how he has wronged himself all these years filling his belly with that Milanese cuisine. The food in Bologna is second to none(and Julio knows it), let’s hope it’s enough…

Instead of Cruz, you guys got Cesar! I hope he is better for you than he was for Inter.

As for Cruz, Moratti likes him… a lot… sort of a strange a lot. I kind of think Sinsia would have to pry Cruz out of Moratti’s cold dead hands to get him away from Inter.

You know, some Inter fans really dont like Dacourt. I, on the other hand, liked him quite a bit - when he wasn’t injured, that is. I think he is just going on loan, so maybe a few months of solid play time will bring him back.
